Can a New Miami Stadium Affect your Miami Real Estate?

I can still smell the hot popcorn smell the sizzling sound of a cooked hotdog and the taste of a refreshing cup of coca cola while the sun or the night lights shine the green grassy football field. The sound of the Hurricanes Marching band playing the fans cheers and the cheerleaders do their routine stunts, its still a vivid feeling it’s something that will never be forgotten. After all the entire orange bowl was a host of 16 championships including 3 University of Miami National Championship-5 Super Bowls and the 1972 Miami Dolphins Perfect Season. Yes the Orange Bowl was an historical site for many of us but it was also deteriorating , unkempt bathrooms and lacking of modern equipment such as video replays and other luxurious amenities that other stadiums have where many of the reasons why a change had to occur. So I can be the first to say I was in agreement for a better stadium It can also help Miami Real Estate and bring more fans, tourist and entertainment to our beautiful city ohh and did I forget to mention a redefined Baseball team in the heart of Miami with a new name Miami Marlins. “But with this decision it will mean a major contribution from the county and the city.

“The Project cost will be 389.4 million for just the park construction it will be 525 million for the entire project. As per the city of Miami the Breakdown is as follows. Miami Dade will contribute 347 million, , mostly from tourist dollars. The city of Miami will pay 23 million, with 10 million going to the demolition of the Orange Bowl. They will also pay 94 million for a new parking ramp. The Marlins will pay 155 million, 120 million up front, with the rest in installments of 2.3 million in rent and contributions towards capital improvements.”

But would this mean to build this stadium it will required bonds backed by Miami Real Estate properties taxes generated inside our community? And if so shouldn’t it be up to us, taxpayers to decide? Should we vote and allow the citizens to voice their opinions and thoughts?

Miami Real Estate can also be directly affected would it be a positive or negative effect that would be up to you to decide.

Norman Braman arguments are well said it should be up to Taxpayers to decided after all it is our Miami Real Estate taxes. I can be the first to say I would like to see a new retractable roof and a state of art Baseball stadium in the heart of Miami but I think it should be done the right way. It should be the voice of every voter or every citizen and every taxpayer. What do you think? Should the government, county officials , or politicians decide for us or should we decided for ourselves? If you would like 5 top reasons why the stadium should be voters choice you can email me at mdelgado@globalmarketreatly.com or call 305364-0037.
