About Doral
In the late 1950s Doral was just about 2,400 acres of swampland until the land was purchased by Alfred and Doris Kaskel with the dream of building a golf course and hotel. By 1962 they accomplished their dream and opened a hotel and country club named ‘Doral’ a combination of Doris and Alfred.
The area around Doral began to slowly grow but Doral didn’t experienced its first boom in growth until Alfred and Doris Kaskel’s grandson Bill developed Doral Estates. Doral Estates was then followed by a joint venture with Lennar Homes to build Doral Park. Soon many developments began to follow and many younger families began to populate the area. In 1995 Doral started its process of incorporation, a process that lasted about 7 years but finally on June 24, 2003 the City of Doral incorporated.
Today the City of Doral is a well established municipal which offers a wide range of services through its departments which includes their own Office of the City Manager, Office of the City Clerk, Finance Department, Community Development Department, Public Works Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and Police Department. The City of Doral is attracting positive attention from Fortune 100 corporations, mom-and-pop businesses, young families and retirees. The City of Doral has come a long way in a short period of time and currently has about 29,685 residents and is describe as a premier place to work and live.
